      Density of Bristles

I was actually relatively surprised by how dense the bristles were on this badger hair brush. I would say it is in the middle-of-the-road compared to other badger hair brushes that I have owned. It is part of the leading shaving brushes to give you an optimal experience if you are on a limited budget.

      Softness and Stiffness of Hairs

Since it is a pure badger hair shaving brush, it is going to be a little bit stiffer than best or silvertip badger hair brushes. It is softer than some other pure badger hair brushes that I have tried in the past, but overall it is pretty stiff. The first three or four shaves were pretty prickly on my skin. Obviously, some stiffness is good because it is good for exfoliating the skin as you are applying your shaving cream. But overall, this is a little too prickly for me. After a few weeks, the Escali pure badger shaving brush will get a little bit softer and more tolerable but they were still pretty stiff. If you really like stiff bristles then this could be a good brush for you.

      Latherability

The Escali pure badger brush holds a decent amount of water. I had no trouble lathering up any of my favorite shaving soaps and creams with this brush. It is fairly easy to load the brush due to the fact that the bristles are stiffer than most. It is easy to load and lather the soap/cream in a bowl or in your hand depending on how you like to lather. Overall I think that it lathers quite well especially for the price point. Escali 100% Pure Badger Shaving Brush is a great option for men who just started wet shaving and want a product that is budget-friendly. Don’t forget the importance of having a quality shaving soap or shaving cream to achieve that desired lather.

      Ergonomics and Longevity

One of the problems that I have with the Escali badger hair shaving brush
is how light the handle is. I like a little bit of heftiness with my badger brushes and this is definitely lacking with the Escali badger brush. The metal ring that sits on top of the handle seems kind of flimsy and susceptible to corrosion from shaving soap and creams over time. I have been noticing hairs falling out even after a month of using the product. It is common for hairs to follow during the first few shaves even on the best badger brushes. But to have them constantly fallout after months of shaving gets me a little bit worried. I have heard people online talking about the same thing. Expect this Escali brush to last no more than three years. Besides that, I think the handle sits decently in my large hands. I just wish that it weighed more.

      Escali Badger Brush Review Conclusion

Overall I think that the Escali pure badger brush is a decent investment especially if you are just getting started out with wet shaving. For approximately $11 on Amazon, you could have a true wet shaving experience with it a real badger hair brush. It does a good job of lathering up soaps and creams and is great for your exfoliation as well. It starts off pretty stiff, but over time it will get softer. The biggest problem with this 100% pure badger shave brush is that I don’t think it will last multiple years as most higher-end badger brushes would. I do not like how it is extremely light, but it would make for a fantastic travel brush because if you accidentally lost it, is not the end of the world.
